Bryker Woods is a central Austin neighborhood developed in the 1930’s. It is predominantly a mix of young and old families and zoned as a single-family neighborhood composed of mostly small homes in good condition most of which are over 50 years old. There has been a recent trend of expanding and renovating homes making room for today’s modern families. The Bryker Woods neighborhood is also part of the Old West Austin Historic District. Bryker Woods has its own elementary school and is convenient to retail and recreational facilities.
Bryker Woods boundaries can be generally described as W. 35th Street on the North, Loop 1 (MoPac) on the West, Westover on the South and Harris Blvd to Oakhurst Ave. and Shoal Creek on the East.
